Evil Banana

My friend Shiv posted this on my facebook this morning:

Evil Banana

Why, you may ask? Because I was complaining to her about how I tried eating a banana again this morning, and it left me curled up in the fetal position on my bed.

Let me explain…since about two years ago, I have been “allergic” to bananas. As someone who ate a banana almost every day, I was pretty upset by this realization. One day, after eating one, I felt extremely nauseous/had a pain in my stomach. After considering all the other variables, and trying about ten more bananas, I narrowed it down to a sad conclusion – my beloved bananas were making me sick.

I have no idea why this happens, but since then, about every 6 months I try a banana in the hopes that I will be magically un-allergic. Today was one of those days. I am sad to report that I am NOT magically un-allergic. Boo. 😦

Before the banana experiment, I had a sugar cookie (nutritious, huh?) and a green smoothie for breakfast. I’m feeling better now (the banana sickness usually lasts 30 min to an hour), and have to study for my open economy macroeconomics final, which is tonight! However, I will be taking a break at 3:00 to hit up total body!

Does anyone have any idea why bananas make me sick!? 😦
